Students explored endothermic and exothermic reactions through hands-on science lab investigations. In one lab, students created Elephant Toothpaste, an exciting exothermic reaction that released heat and produced a large amount of foam (resembling toothpaste for elephants!). In another investigation, students compared opposing reactions by measuring temperature changes to observe how some reactions release energy while others absorb it. By making predictions, collecting data, and analyzing results, students strengthened their scientific thinking and gained a deeper understanding of how energy is transferred during chemical reactions.
